Digital Literacy Program

Fusion organizes digital literacy program for the
rural community to impart knowledge on various
modes of cashless transaction, linking of Aadhar
card to the bank account, digital payments and using
debit/credit cards for the transaction.

• The sessions are kept interactive, practical, and less
textual. We aim to make rural households digitally
literate, introduce cashless payments to them, and
enhance their economic growth and individual
empowerment thereby supporting the Digital India
Initiative of the Government of India.

• Each program witnesses huge participation from the
villages.

Financial Literacy Program - Branches

  • At the time of Compulsory Group Trainings which are delivered by our relationship officers. Women are briefed in a 20 minutes session about the purpose of taking loan, right utilization of the loan, over indebtedness, responsibilities of group members in JLG and savings etc.
  • The topics are explained through pictorial tool kit for their better understanding. Most of the audience is less educated and hence pictures act as an effective mode of conveying information to rural women.

Financial Literacy Program - Mass Level

  • FLP is also organized for women borrowers and other people from the rural community.
  • The objective of the program is to provide awareness on important aspects of household financial management and encourage them to inculcate the smart practices of saving money in their lives from the existing source of income. 
  • Various topics like household budgeting, investment, prevention from over-indebtedness, developing a positive attitude towards savings and financial security from the current income source etc. are discussed during the session. 
  • The sessions are interactive which ensures full participation of women through games, quizzes, role plays, simulation exercise etc. Women are encouraged to participate and share their personal experiences as well.

Fusion ki Paathshala

  • Fusion conducted a literacy program for the children in govt. school to provide them with a platform to engage in an extracurricular activity, improve public speaking and build leadership skills. We piloted this program in FY 2019-20.
  • Senior students from the school were selected and trained on the importance of financial management, digital literacy, bank account, educational loan, government schemes and choosing a right career path, who further trained rest of the students in the school.

Children's Day Celebration

  • On Children’s Day, school bags and stationery items were distributed to school-going children in Madhya Pradesh.
  • Educational games were distributed to children aged between 3 to 10 years at Madhya Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
  • The day was celebrated in the presence of government officials and parents of the children.
  • An awareness program was organized in Sidhi, Madhya Pradesh to sensitize the rural community on the importance of educating children and women hygiene followed up by distribution of school bags along with stationery to underprivileged children and sanitary napkins to women.

Volunteer Day

  • Fusion employees volunteered to spend a day with the children with special needs suffering from autism, MR, cerebral palsy, ADHD and down syndrome etc.
  • Children and employees participated with enthusiasm in several activities such as music, singing, dance and art competition.
  • Learning aids were provided to children which will help in their psychological development.

Project Shiksha

  • Project Shiksha – a scholarship program was piloted on International Literacy Day 2019 in the backward areas of 10 states i.e. Bihar, Haryana, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Chhattisgarh, Uttarakhand, and Punjab.
  • The idea of the project was to provide financial support to the underprivileged students in the crucial phase of their studies.
  • Under this program, 133 meritorious students studying in schools and colleges were provided with scholarships. Girl students received the scholarship in a huge number.

Health Check-Up and Awareness Programs

  • Fusion organizes Health camp for the rural community especially for women and children in its operational area in which huge number of
    people participate.
  • Diagnosis of patients are done by well established gynecologists, pediatricians, optometrist and general physicians.
  • Diagnostic tests like HIV/AIDS, Hemoglobin, Tuberculosis, Blood sugar and blood pressure are facilitated in each camp.
  • The programs are attended by various officials from government, Administration and development organization etc. from the area.
  • Nukkad Natak (street plays) are also part of the health camps through which we make our beneficiaries understand the
    importance of maintaining health, hygiene, and sanitation.

Project Ojas - An Eyecare Initiative

  • Doorstep eye check-up and cataract detection were facilitated for families living in 6 remote villages of Assam during covid-19
    pandemic.
  • People diagnosed with refractive errors received spectacles and cataract surgeries were assisted along with post-operative care.
  • People were also counselled on identifying early signs of prominent eye ailments and maintaining a healthy eye routine

Eye Check-Up Camps

  • Specialized eye checkup camps are organized in multiple states as per the need assessment of different rural areas. Complete eye
    check
    up of the patients are done by the qualified doctors. Patients diagnosed with cataract undergo Lasik Surgery and provided
    spectacles post surgery.
  • Those diagnosed with eyesight issues were provided with spectacles.

Menstrual Hygiene Management

  • MHM program was organized in a backward district of Bihar, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan for women and
    adolescent girls entering their menstrual age.
  • Awareness was created by the counsellors on the importance of menstrual hygiene and its practices.
  • Reusable sanitary napkins were distributed to the adolescent girls.
  • Health check-up, basic tests like haemoglobin, blood pressure, BMI etc. were conducted along with the distribution of supplements.
  • Fusion was the first organization to organize such a program in the area.

Cancer Screening Program & Treatment

  • A cervical, oral and breast cancer screening and awareness program was organized at Rajasthan, Bihar and Madhya Pradesh. Screening of the
    patients was done by the certified practitioners from TATA Memorial
    Hospital.
  • Suspected cases were referred to the nearby government hospital. Regular followups were done with the suspected cases.
  • Basic tests like blood pressure, weight, and sugar were also done.
  • Received a great response from the community as Fusion was the first company to organize such program in the area.
  • Contribution to Indian Cancer Society was done through HDFC Charity Fund for Cancer Care for the treatment of cancer patients who can not
    afford their treatment.

National Nutrition Program

  • National Nutrition Month was celebrated in September 2018 and 2019 in remote areas of Odisha, Rajasthan, West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, and Haryana.
  • Medical health checkup camps were organized on this occasion where women and children participated in a huge number.
  • Patients diagnosed with nutritional and iron deficiencies were given special supplements. Nutritional food packets consisting of soya bean, Pushti
    mix, jaggery and pulses were also distributed in all the
    locations.
  • Awareness of adopting healthy eating habits was spread through counselling sessions by the staff of Anganwadi (rural childcare centre) and by organizing street plays

Wheelchair Distribution Program

  • Wheelchairs were distributed to specially abled women, men, and children from weaker section of the society with a vision to provide mobility and help them to experience freedom in their lives.
  • Wheelchairs were distributed in 14 states i.e. Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Gujarat, Haryana, Tamil Nadu, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, Punjab,
    Pondicherry, and West Bengal.
  • The program was unanimously appreciated by the people from the communities and government officials

Wheelchair Distribution Program for Ex-Servicemen

  • Wheelchairs were donated to specially abled exservicemen of the armed forces who served the nation selflessly. Some of these men have suffered war casualty. Distribution was conducted to recreate motion in the stagnant lives of the courageous exservicemen of the country.
  • The program was done in collaboration with Sainik Kalyan Karyalaya, Jaipur.
  • The program was highly appreciated and created a massive impact

International Women's Day

  • Health awareness programs were organised in Bihar, Madhya Pradesh and Uttarakhand to celebrate International Women’s day on 8th March.
  • Women were sensitized on the health issues related to menstrual cycle and other personal hygiene related problems through street plays, videos, and counselling sessions by the Gynecologist.
  • The programs were attended by prominent personalities from different walks of life.
  • Programs were widely covered by the print and broadcast media.

Water Wheel Distribution

  • Fusion distributed 308 water wheels to rural women in 10 remote villages across five districts of
    Rajasthan and Odisha.

  • These women used to walk 4 to 5 kms every day to carry water pots on their heads to get water for the families. Carrying such heavy loads had longterm negative effects on their health. Even the girl child had to share the burden of walking a long distance to get the water which sometimes required multiple
    trips.
  • Water wheels provided to the women has eased out the burden of carrying water. It enables people to conveniently roll water from water sources rather than carry it on their heads. Apart from the portability of water, it will prevent health consequences, they will not have to brave the harsh weather and children will have more time for the studies.

Toilet Construction & Awareness Program

  • Toilets were constructed in govt schools for girls and in public places for the local community to promote hygiene and sanitation. The program supports ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’ an initiative of the Govt. of India.
  • Major construction was done in the government schools for girls to provide hygienic environment and to ensure their regular attendance in the school.
  • Awareness generation programs were organized during the inauguration of the toilets constructed inside the school premises and community to sensitize the students, teachers, and community people on the importance of using toilets to maintain hygiene.
  • Toilet construction and sanitation awareness have collectively had a positive impact on the attendance of girl students.

Project JAL - Drinking water solution

  • Fusion installed water purifiers and water tanks at Govt. schools in Uttarakhand, West Bengal, Odisha, and Uttar Pradesh to provide clean drinking water to students.
  • Awareness programs were also organized to sensitize students/parents/teachers on importance of clean drinking water.

Covid 19 Welfare Program

  • Fusion started early intervention to hold a better chance of addressing the crisis of Covid19 in remote and backward villages of 17 states i.e. Bihar, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Assam, Chhattisgarh, Tamil Nadu, Delhi, Odisha, Rajasthan, Punjab, West Bengal, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Jharkhand, Puducherry and Uttarakhand.
  • Awareness creation was done across villages through loudspeakers and IEC materials on protective measures against Covid19 (as per ICMR guidelines).
  • Hygiene kits which included masks, sanitary napkins, soaps, and sanitizer were distributed in remote and backward villages.

Covid 19 Vaccination Program

  • Vaccination programs are organized to cover around 4,000 rural people from 30 villages of Patna, Bihar.
  • Transportation services were provided for senior citizens and specially abled persons.
  • The team also provided counseling to people about the benefits of the vaccine and its side effects.

Relief & welfare

  • Relief material which includes food items and toiletries was given to 33,367 victims of the flood across 78 locations of Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, and Assam in last four years. Some of these victims were staying on national highway and relief camp who did not have access to even basic items.
  • Relief material was distributed to the affected households at Cherukadapuram, Kochukadavu, Nadathara and Cherpu during massive Kerala flood in August 2018.
  • Relief material including Solar lights, food packets, toiletries was provided to people affected by Cyclone FANI in Odisha in 2019. To control the health problems, a Health checkup camp was also organized in Sakhigopal.
  • Immediate relief was provided to Pattokotai, Thanjavur and surrounding villages of Tamil Nadu households affected by Cyclone GAJA by food packets,
    distributing toiletries, blankets and tarpaulin etc. in 2018.

Plantations

  • On Pollution Prevention Day, more than 810 trees were planted in 3 villages of Uttarakhand covering two government schools and the land alongside the river Ganga which are also floodprone areas. The plantation helped to prevent the effect of the flood to the surrounding villages.
  • Plantation of medicinal plants was done at panchayat area (village level governing system) in and at two government schools. The sarpanch (head
    of the panchayat), school children and their parents participated in the
    plantation of trees of Uttar Pradesh

Solar Lights Distribution

  • Solar lights distributed at Talabpur village, Madhya Pradesh where rural people have no electricity connection.
  • Solar lights distribution to 300 victims of Cyclone Fani at Sakhigopal, Odisha.

Conservation Work

  • Fusion has contributed to World Wild Fund (WWF) for the biodiversity conservation work at Harike wetland in Punjab to promote environmental protection. This wetland is an essential habitat for many migratory birds. The conservation of the wetland has improved a longterm survival of the migratory birds.
